Do You Need a Wireless Printer?

By on June 14, 2010

In today’s fast paced world wireless printers are the name of the game. This means never having to worry about all that wiring and cables,  having portability and flexibility which makes them very convinient. For a lot of business people wireless printers bring conveniences which the old age printers are incapable of providing.

These printers have a certain mechanism through which they work. The mechanism is such that the printers have certain inputs and connections which may allow them to receive Blue tooth or wi-fi signals. Higher end models are also compatible with and communicate with other devices like mobile phones and computers by using these signals. It is essential for the signal to be there or else the printer would not function.

When buying a wireless printer you should consider the following factors:

1    A multi functional printer should be one’s choice since it proves to be a cost effective solution
2    One should buy a gadget which has the latest technology features but at the same time it should be one which is user friendly. Apart from having wi fi and Bluetooth ports, there should be memory card and USB ports for hassle free usage.
3    The printer should be one which proves to cost effective along with being economical on space consumption. A all-in one printer proves to be cost effective in any case due to the existence of scanner, photocopy machine and fax in the machine
4    Moreover, the function of printing should be one which can be done at a fast speed, which proves the efficiency and quality of the printer

There are various advantages which come along with wireless printers for home or office use:

Home advantages:

1    There’s no extra cables or wires required. It’s an essential part of home networking especially if you have more than one computer. Thus along with it being convenient, it does’t add to the clutter of the house with messy wiring and cables
2    It allows you to print letters, documents, photos, labels, signs, etc. among other items while at home at your own leisure.

Office advantages:

1    It provides immense flexibility, due to the fact that one doesn’t need to be stuck to their desk while working. Moreover, in order to get a printing job done one doesn’t need to move far from their desk area. You just need to be on their network and give a print command and get the printed document

2    As a business owner it entails immense savings for one’s office, due to the fact that you won’t need an office supply of printers. Only the people who will be printing frequently would be given the device for their use, while others on the network can still generate printed documents. Furthermore you’ll save on printer maintenance and printing supplies, and due to less cabling and wires, the office saves on electricity and energy costs as well.

Keep in mind that each good thing has a flip side and so is the case with wireless printers. Occaisionally one is faced with a problem in places where there’s no signal, in such cases having a wired printer comes in handy. However on an overall evaluation in most cases the advantages of wireless printers far outweigh the disadvantages.
